Our targets

By participating to the generation of an image of science shown to the public, as well as to the public’s image in the eyes of scientists, the public communication of science has a major impact upon the relationship between science and society, and upon the way in which science is conducted.
For Traces, reflection is both the start and finish of any activity. Constantly guided by its ideas and values, the group explores and experiments with various practices, whilst always keeping the analysis and discussion of principles and of the results of its actions at the fore.

Our methods

Each programme is an opportunity to make headway in the understanding of nature-science-technology-society relations, using the theoretical framework of sociology, philosophy, educational sciences or the history of sciences, made possible by the solid base of knowledge provided by many of its graduate members.
Perspective and collective reflection form one of the group’s cornerstone values, in particular though its meetings and distribution list dedicated to the current affairs of science communication. As such, the observation and sharing of reflections that have occurred at the centre of specific projects are further extended through events and publications that we contribute to or organise on a regional, national and European scale.

En étudiant les questions "socialement vives" soulevées par les avancées technologiques, nous interrogeons l’influence des progrès des sciences du vivant sur nos rapports au monde, la beauté, la performance…

Sur l'engagement
des publics

Enfants, adolescents, adultes, familles ou groupes intergénérationnels... Nous faisons de chaque projet l’occasion de comprendre et créer les conditions facilitant l'accès et le plein engagement de publics pluriels.

Sur les processus et
méthodes d'apprentissage

Pour savoir comment communiquer et transmettre, autant savoir comment nos interlocuteurs apprennent. Pour imaginer et valider nos innovations pédagogiques, nous développons donc nos propres recherches sur l'apprendre.
