When science meets journalism : Jeunes Reporters Scientifiques (Young Scientific Reporters)

Set up since 2016 by the TRACES association as part of Classes à Paris (Classes in Paris), the "Jeunes Reporters Scientifiques" (Young scientific reporters) project combines two ways of observing the world : science (the experimental approach and research) and journalism (the investigation and storytelling).

The students are assigned as "young scientific reporters" and discover a scientific theme through a course alternating sessions at school and visits to scientific cultural places and research laboratories, allowing an immersion in "science in the process of making".

This project aims to make children aware of the scientific process as a rational approach to observing and understanding the world.

A work of media education and restitution in the form of articles (or other medium) makes it possible to value the work carried out and to consider a presentation of their work beyond the borders of class.
