Tinkering EU
Adressing the adults
The "Tinkering EU: Addressing the Adults" project uses the tinkering methodology, developed and put into practice at the Tinkering Studio at the Exploratorium in San Francisco and which the TRACES association has appropriated through its Technical Creativity workshops offered in the catalog of Atomes Crochus and the ESPGG, to design and offer workshops to an adult audience "prevented" or from the social field. With this project, we want to bring these audiences closer to scientific culture and help them maintain, develop and enhance the "21st century skills" they possess.
This project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, brings together several European partners. NEMO Center (Netherlands) is coordinator; TRACES (France), Cambridge University (Great Britain), ScienceCenter Netzwerk (Austria), Centrum Nauki Kopernik (Poland) and the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci in Milan (Italy) are partners. On the occasion of this project, the association TRACES is pleased to work with several local partners, including a Penitentiary Service for Integration and Probation and Espace Cesame, the Espace Dynamique d'Insertion de Cergy. Other local partners will join us in this adventure in 2021, we will give you news very soon!
Tinkering EU: Addressing the Adults follows on from two European projects carried out between 2014 and 2019: Tinkering in the EU and Tinkering EU: Building Science Capital for All, which encouraged the development of Tinkering-inspired activities in Europe such as an inclusive way to foster public engagement in science.
